1) PS 127 has the Young Dancers in Repertory (YDR) Summer Camp –  7805 -7th Avenue.This is a free 7 week camp and first priority is given to the students at PS 127 who go to the aftercare.  or Summer Camp. 2) IS 30 The Ovington School 7002 Fourth Avenue also has the Young Dancers in Repertory (YDR) Summer Camp. 7002 – 4th Avenue.  This is a free camp and first priority is given to the students at IS 30.    718-491-8440

 

3) PS 102 has the Heartshare Summer Camp  9:00 am – 5 pm located at 211 72nd Street.    718-567-2365
 

4) PS 205 has a free camp at 6701- 20th Avenue is  sponsored by the Brooklyn Chinese American Association.  Camp hours: 8 am – 5 pm     718-438-0008

 

5) First Evangelical Free Church Summer Splash Camp – 6501 – 6th Avenue – Every summer in July and August, the First Evangelical Free Church along with the New York Chinese Evangelical Free Church join together to provide 7 weeks of summer programs for children entering 1st – 6th grade in the neighborhood.  718-745-7775   See camp here.

 

6) Free Basketball Camp – Camp for children 8-12 years old. It’s at the Salvation Army on 86th Street and supported by Councilman Gentile – July 1st – 18th – Monday to Friday 9 am – 12. 7) PSAL Big Apple Games at The Ovington School PS 176 and The Irving Gladstone School PS 186 have a free Summer Arts and Recreation  Camp for the month of July. Monday to Thursday 9-3 pm. Basketball, softball, wrestling, volleyball, hockey, handball, gymnastics, arts and crafts and swimming. Breakfast and lunch included. You can go to either school on the first day of the program to sign up (which is right after July 4th).

PS 186 is at 7601 – 19th Avenue

 

8) Free Summer Bible Camps in the area:

 

  • Leffert’s Park Baptist Church 7524 – 14th Avenue has free Vacation Bible Camp for the second week in July 9:39 – 1:30 pm for ages 2 and up.
  • Gateway City Church 267 Bay Ridge Avenue has Bible Camp on the third week of July for $5.00 per child (not free, but $5 is almost free). Ages 4-12
  • Trinity Lutheran Church has Vacation Bible School for free on the second week of August for ages 3-12.  9020 – 4th Avenue. Call 718-745-0138 to reserve a spot.

  • IS 104 located at 9115 – 5th Avenue. Camp will run Monday through Thursday, July 7th through August 14th, 8 am-2:30 pm.   • PS 229 – 1400 Benson Avenue (Entrance on Bay 7th)  Camp will run Monday through Friday, July 1st through August 15th, 8 am – 5:30pm (July 4th Closed)   Open to CURRENT grades K-5.   Register on March 12th & 13th at 6 PM – 8 PM

 

 

  • IS 281 at 8787 – 24th Avenue. Camp will run Monday through Thursday, July 7th through August 14th, 8 am-1 pm   Open to grades 6-8 (including 5th graders entering middle school this Fall!) 10) 2017 Schedule Posted – The Federation of Italian Americans (FIAO) offers free camps at different locations.  FIAO 7403 18th Avenue 718-259-2828  –  Some years they have more programs than others. Last year I saw only 2 schools. In 2014, they had 5 schools. These fill  up fast.  CALL 718-259-2828 to register.

11)  The Brooklyn Chinese American Association has camps at several school for students in grades k-5. Monday through Friday 8 – 5 pm. You don’t have to be Chinese to go to them.  Brooklyn Chinese-American Association  (718) 438-0008

 

 

12) City Parks Junior Golf Center  8850 – 14th Avenue has a Summer Program to teach golf for free to children 8 to 17 years old. 

 

13) NYC offers some free Summer Programs – not in Bay Ridge – lottery
