July 4th in Bay Ridge and Around Brooklyn

July 3rd – you have to Register here. If you didn’t register for this see below.

The fireworks are done on a barge in the water across from the army base. If you go on the Shore Road bike path near the bridge, you can see the fireworks too! Do a lot of people do this? Sure, a lot of people love fireworks!  We know someone who timed it so he would get stuck on the Belt Parkway in his car while the fireworks were going off.

Residents have said that they saw fireworks prior years by sitting close to the army base (near Poly). We saw pics last year and they did see the high flying fireworks (but there are low ones on the barges that we don’t think they could have seen).

July 4th

Snowdays Shaved Ice Shop Opened today in Bay Ridge – see here!

This year you will be be able to see the Macy’s Fireworks from the end of the 69th Street Pier in Bay Ridge.   The fireworks will be where the X is (near the Brooklyn Bridge). The 69th Street Pier is where the red Marker that says American Veteran’s Memorial Pier. You do not have a straight view up the River, so you will be able to see some high fireworks from the end of the pier. You will not see the low fireworks that are on the barges. From the Pier, you can usually see some fireworks across in Staten Island (not a lot, but they are okay).

Will you have a better view of the fireworks from the Brooklyn Promenade or  Brooklyn Bridge Park at 334 Furman Street?  Yes you will, but it will be crowded.

The 58th Street Pier also had a great view of the Macy’s Fireworks, but it was crowded.

Enjoy the fireworks this year because next year they go back North and we won’t be able to see them again.
