You now have children who are ready to experience New Year’s Eve. Here are some things you can do in Bay Ridge or nearby in Brooklyn:
Restaurants with Early Countdowns:
a) Pizzeria Unos 718-748-8667 call and tell them to reserve you some seats for the New Year’s Eve Party at 5:00 pm or 7:00 pm (they have two seatings). At both seatings, there is a balloon drop that the kids love! Pizzeria Unos is at 9201 – 4th Avenue.
a) Urban Steam Lab is having a New Year’s Party from 7:00 – 9:00 pm, so families can celebrate together – $35.00 per family (The whole family is able to attend the event! Drop-off is optional). The Urban Steam Lab is at 7912 – 5th Avenue. Register here. This STEAM event is fun for the whole family (Build confetti poppers, create LED light new year glasses, eat pizza and treats and watch the countdown to the ball drop).
b) Schnitel Haus at 7319 5th Avenue is having an early New Years Eve, so families with children can celebrate. They announced that they are celebrating at 6:00 pm because in Berlin, Germany the ball drops at 6:00 pm. 718-836-5600
c) The Camp Store on DeKalb Avenue is having an earl countdown celebration (it looks cute). It’s from 11:30 am – 12:15 pm. See pictures and information here. $30 for a child’s ticket here

b) Saint Patrick’s 718-238-2600 – has a New Year’s Eve Party. Families went last year and there were a lot of events for kids. St. Pats is on 4th Avenue and 96th Street. They are having a bouncy house, craft table, face painting, craft table and late night movie.
b) St. Athanasius and St. Dominic’s New Years Eve Party – 2001 Bay Ridge Pkwy
i) Stroll on Coney Island’s Boardwalk and see the free fireworks. Around 9pm there is live entertainment, free carousel rides and a midnight fireworks show!
k)Walk into the New Year – over the Brooklyn Bridge Tour – You don’t need to pay for a tour to walk over the bridge – you know that!
l) Stay home and make a party for your family.Ideas here. When I was a kid, I would go to bed around 9:00 pm on New Years Eve and then my parents would wake me up 20 minutes before the ball came down. I stayed awake for an hour and hung out with our family and their friends. I sipped champagne and ate Cheese-Its and then went to bed…..great memories!
