A memorial mass celebrating Kevin Peter’s life will be on June 22nd at 11:15 am at Holy Name of Jesus Church at 245 Prospect Park West in Brooklyn.
I was shocked to hear the news that Kevin Peter Carroll died.

He was so young – just 33 years old (his birthday was in May).

Kevin Peter Carroll spent most of his life being active in Bay Ridge and helping his community.
In recent years, he was proud to be the 64th District Democratic Male Leader in Bay Ridge. Carroll was also a former member of Community Board 10.
Kevin’s old boss wrote this about Kevin:
Kevin’s life wasn’t easy the past two years. He lost his Mom in 2017 while he was running a campaign for city council.

I was very saddened to learn of the death of my friend, Kevin Peter Carroll. He was passionate and determined about everything he did. It was a trait he learned from his father, the late Kevin Patrick Carroll, whom I also knew and adored. I remember how inconsolable he was on losing his dad shortly after he became District Leader.
I then remember how inconsolable Kevin was when he lost his mom, Dprothy Carroll, whom I also knew. I never knew anyone more devoted to a mother than he was. He insisted she move in with him after she became confined to a wheelchair.
But now it is we, his friends, who are inconsolable upon losing Kevin Peter. We will all miss him terribly. Courageous and outspoken. Dedicated and conscientious. R.I.P., Kevin Peter.

Kevin invited Wayne and me to his Christmas Party in 2012. The invitation was welcomed. I will never forget how he took notes of our conversations and use them for his council campaign–wheelchair accessibility in particular.
I only met him once in Manhattan because he needed to stay close to Brooklyn. I admired his dedication to shining the spotlight on his borough.
