Boom Heard This Moring in Brooklyn

Around 11:20 am this morning, residents in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Bensonhurst heard a loud boom and thought they felt the aftermath of an earthquake shaking their home.
Update: Channel 1 Spectrum News reported about it in the afternoon and said residents in NY and NJ heard it. The news reporter said the sound could have come from a military aircraft going too fast because they haven’t found any other sources for the sound.
Update 2: Meteorologist Nick Pittman said the sound was caused by a meteor that burned up in the atmosphere!

Update 3: Channel 4 concurs with the meteor, but they don’t know if it caused the sound/shaking.
