1,300 People Showed Up for Shabbat Dinner at Ayat in Ditmas Park
In December, Abdul Elani and his wife, Ayat opened another Ayat Restaurant at 1616 Cortelyou Road. They started to receive hateful messages.
Instead of responding with hate, the Elani’s invited their neighbors for a Shabbat dinner. Abdul Elani said that @lev.nyc prepared the Shabbat dinner of kosher style fish with salads and they didn’t want to get paid. (That is so nice of Lev.NYC)
I’m glad to see the line went around the corner and sooooo many people attended.
I saw a little hate on social media about the event. The Elani’s businesses have been in Bay Ridge for many years. Don’t aim your frustration and anger about what’s going on overseas at this peaceful and hardworking couple.

Interestingly, there was a huge bread in many of the pictures at the event. I wonder if that was made by Ayat or by Lev.NYC.
Hugs,
marlene
