Update on the Homeless Shelter in Bay Ridge

Last month, residents in Bay Ridge protested outside of Councilman Justin Brannan’s office. (Info and photos)
Councilman Brannan had his staffer take photos of the protesters and then mocked them on his Facebook page. (See here and here) People have the right to protest a developer winning in their community! You know we have bad representatives because other politicians didn’t tell Brannan to take that down! District Leader, Chris McCreight is silent as usual!
On social media, nice Bay Ridge residents asked Councilman Brannan why he didn’t go to the Towers and meet with the people.
Brannan told them he would hold a meeting there. Councilman Brannan did not hold a meeting or provide the residents any more information. Brannan has not written about the homeless shelter in any mailing. The Councilman likes to plays on Twitter. (See here)
In February, the head of Community Board 10 said that they were going to have someone come to a Spring meeting and speak about the hotel. I don’t believe her because she said that about the high school as well! Community Board 10 members don’t live near that location, so they don’t care and the topic is passed over.
By now, Community Board 10 should have had Justin Brannan speak on the topic. Brannan is not representing the community or communicating and CB 10 should be holding him accountable (other Community Boards are better at this.) How did this project get so far without community input?
Hugs,
marlene
