“Get Pizza and Goodies” when Voting in Bay Ridge – WHY?

Why would an elected official tell people : “If you are coming to vote early at Fort Hamilton HS, we have a Pizza to the polls truck giving out snacks and goodies.”

Senator Gounardes, who took money from a developer (see article where this was shared) told people on social media, “if you are coming to vote at Fort Hamilton High school, they can get snacks and goodies. See his tweet
Then Justin Brannan shared that he brought donuts to the voters:

I don’t understand how this is allowed. The federal law says nothing can be used to influence voting – see law here
That’s odd that a politician would tell someone to get something while voting.
On the first day of voting, a group giving out pizza was thoughtful. (Pizza To the Polls). There are no lines like that now – it’s fast – in and out voting now.

In 2017, when a Republican gave out cookie tins to polling workers, Bay Ridge activists went CRAZY and it became known as COOKIEGATE. See here.

Another person shared that there was free pizza.
Brannan retweeted it. See here
Free….nothing is free.

In other words, he’s buying votes with “pizza and goodies”. Bragging about his shady ways on social media. Wow…just wow. This bum needs to go!

It’s called Pizza to the Polls. The lines to vote are very long and people need food. It’s not electioneering. They’re not saying if you vote for us, we’ll give you pizza. The pizza and doughnuts aren’t labeled “provided by xyz” campaign either like the cookie tins.
Giving cookie tins to poll workers with whatever campaigned labeled on it in the polling site, that is not allowed.
I don’t know what your agenda is but it seems very pro-Republican.

Jessica,
If Justin Brannan is bringing pizza to the poll workers, then that’s more than someone bringing a tin of cookies.
Listen, I know many people are very political and I don’t care who is a Democrat and who is a Republican. If something isn’t right, I am going to write it so my neighbors know.
I have spoken out about Republican candidates being in the polling area and Democrats are doing the same thing this year.
It’s strange and creepy!
Giving cookies to poll workers isn’t any different than Councilman Brannan bringing food to the poll workers. See pic: http://www.queenoftheclick.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Justin-Brannan-donuts-for-voters.png
Just like with the old senator, it makes people question. Justin saw that happen and he shouldn’t be repeating it.

I don’t know why Andrew Gounardes would think this was okay for him advertising that “we” have pizza.
That organization was only for places that had long pizza lines – there was no lines this weekend in Bay Ridge.
