Dandy Lion Closed on 89th Street & Moved In With Mr. Chips on 3rd & 75th Street

Ridgites who love The Dandy Lion Cafe will be glad to know that their breakfast spot closed on 3rd Avenue and 89th Street and is moving in with Mr. Chips Cafe on 3rd Avenue and 75th Street.
Mr. Chips told me that both businesses will be operating there.
We love the collaboration of two businesses who love this community.
Why? The rent was too high.
We are going to hear more of this as the cost of living has increased and is being passed on.
What can be done? Legislation at the city and state level can help!
Councilman Justin Brannan can pass the Small Business Jobs Survival Act, as the head of Finance in NYC Council, he has power to help (unless REBNY has a hold on him).
Senator Gounardes is holding up on property tax reform because his friends in other areas like Park Slope don’t want to pay more.
As taxes climb, so do the rents. Andrew Gounardes had everything he needed to change taxes since Bill de Blasio left office. The former Mayor had the property tax commission give out the property tax rate. The new mayor is a personal friend of Andrew’s.
Hugs,
marlene
