Truck and School Bus Collided 76th St. and Ridge
Around 3:15 pm, a bus and pickup truck crashed on Ridge Blvd and 76th Street. (See videos)
Hopefully, no one was hurt.
Earlier today, a school bus was in a serious accident in Staten Island and children were brought to the hospital.
Overturned school bus as a result of a crash at the intersection of Laconia Avenue and Naughton Avenue, Staten Island. #NYPD and #FDNY responded to the scene. An early morning collision happened on the Gowanas Expressway and 86th Street in Bay Ridge. There was a twelve car pileup and four people were taken to the hospital. (Info)

January 17, 2025RIP 23-Year-Old Man Died – Belt Parkway Crash
A 23-year-old man was killed early this morning on the Belt Parkway.
The news wrote that the Honda crashed into a pole near Bay 13th Street in Bath Beach, Brooklyn. (News) People may immediately assume he was speeding, but a reporter noticed there was black ice on the Belt Parkway this morning. (Info)
The man was working on a food delivery and was on his way home.
RIP. Prayers for this young man’s family and friends. He was only 23-year-old and had his whole life ahead of him.

January 16, 2025What Senator Andrew Gounardes Hid at the Bottom of His List
Senator Andrew Gounardes put out a list. At the bottom of the list is a bill called New York for All Act, which will “broadly prohibit the local police from enforcing federal immigrant laws.“
Andrew Gounardes hoped all of you didn’t read his boring list. I did because I am tired of the sneaky politics.
In December, Debrina Kawam was murdered on a train in Coney Island. The main suspect is an undocumented immigrant from Guatemala.
Non-citizens can be deported for serious crimes such as domestic violence, crimes of moral turpitude, posing a threat to national security or engaging in fraudulent activities related to their immigration status.
We all should be glad that Andrew Gounardes is such a horrible politician since he has been pushing this since 2020! (Info)
For six years, Senator Andrew Gounardes has not lifted a finger to help me with property taxes, but he’s made this bill to stop give a criminal more rights.
Mayor Eric Adams has helped many immigrants. Adams has clearly stated that NYC will not be a safe harbor for criminals.
Anyone who has committed a crime in the United States is already entitled to due process.

No: 7 CB 13 Members Voted Against It
Yes: 2 CB 13 Members Voted For It
Abstention: 1 Vote
Coney Island residents who attended the Zoom were glad to hear Community Board 13 Committee Members fighting for Coney Island!
The Committee members explained how the casino and demapping would hurt the people and small businesses in Coney Island.

Why are people setting off fireworks in Bay Ridge on January 15, 2025? Palestinians are celebrating the temporary ceasefire in Gaza that will begin on January 19th. The ceasefire will last for 42 days. (Info)

Many news outlets said that both Biden and Trump’s people negotiated the deal. (Info)
Councilman Justin Brannan must not be aware that Trump’s team was working on this too as he thanked only Joe Biden:
It’s a ceasefire for 42 days – I wouldn’t throw fireworks for that or release statements UNTIL it’s a real ceasefire for good.
