Jordan’s Lobster Deck in Brooklyn Closed

I just found out that Jordan’s Lobster Deck at 3165 Harkness Avenue closed a few months ago. We went there before the movies and it was closed.
This is the restaurant that was across the street from the UA Movie Theater. They close for a few months in the Winter, but they will not be re-opening this year.
Before Covid, the restaurant was always busy when I was there (before a movie).
A man who lives near the restaurant stopped and told me that Jordan’s stopped doing their lobster special before they closed.
They have another restaurant called Jordan’s Lobster Farm at 1 Pettit Place in Island Park – it’s near Long Beach and I was told that is still open.
This place will be missed in Brooklyn!

April 23, 2022NYC Train Graffiti is Very Telling

Normally, I hate graffiti on public property, but someone who is on the outside of society wrote the message above because no one can hear him.
I am putting it here so we can all vote better.
That person could be anyone’s family member. Our area gives $0 for housing the homeless.
There is so much money being wasted by non-for-profits who are having galas and dinners with our tax money instead of housing those who are down on their luck and need help to get back on the right track.

April 23, 2022After a Man Died From an Accident on 86th Street, People Called for Scooter Safety. Justin Brannan Pointed Instead of Taking Action

Not one politician from this area mentioned the man who died or expressed any sympathy for him. (Info)
This didn’t surprise me because politicians didn’t express sympathy over Xingchun Rong, an Asian mother who was killed by an e-bike on 19th Avenue. (See here) Frontus was recovering from surgery, but the male politicians were silent.
Councilman Justin Brannan voted in favor of the e-scooters in NYC in June 2020.

Brannan and other politicians didn’t put forth any safety measures to use this equipment. The strange part is the politicians didn’t even take the time to work wit the NYPD on how this could be done safely. Many of the people who voted with Brannan are no longer in office.
Politicians don’t understand that many Brooklynites would misuse the technology. How many people have to die in our community before politicians pass safety measures?

People regularly share pictures on social media of delivery drivers riding the on the sidewalk.
This week, people called on Brannan to regulate the bikes. Instead of taking action, Brannan pushed it off onto the state:

If you voted for Justin Brannan……is this the response that you thought he would give someone after voting for e-scooters and seeing Brooklynites getting hurt and even dying.

April 23, 2022Hijab Vending Machine at the Staten Island Mall

This pretty pink vending machine in the Staten Island Mall sells hijabs.
That’s so cool.
On the top of the machine, it says: “We have you covered.”
All the hijabs are in bags and you choose the style/color on the touch screen.

Vending machines make a lot of money and have low overhead. Selling hijabs is a vending machine is very unique, but we will probably see them in more places in the future. This company is named Hijab Plug.
I think this would appeal to a lot of teens and young Muslim women, especially if Hijab Plug change the designs of the hijabs every month or two.

April 22, 2022District 64 Democrat District Leader Candidates Sue Each Other…. Ralph Gets Flowers

Mark Hanna and Ralph Perfetto are running for the Democrat District Leaders in the 64th District in Bay Ridge. If you are a Democrat and your Assembly representative is Michael Tannousis, you may be able to vote for one of these candidates.
Mark explained that both candidates submitted their signatures. Hanna has three times the amount of signatures needed. Ralph sued him over the signatures (political parties do this to knock candidates off June primary).

Mark saw Ralph’s signatures and is questioning if they are from people in the 64th District, so he sued Perfetto as well…..and sent flowers with the paperwork. (See text below – Ralph thanked Mark for the flowers).

At first I thought Mark being snarky, but after reading the text, it seemed like Hanna didn’t enjoy suing another politician.
I like that he shared the cost in the tweet below:

Hanna is running with the female Democrat District Leader candidate, Joanne Seminara. She’s been silent about all of the current politicians choices and continues to endorse them.

April 22, 2022Small White Dog Reunited in Bay Ridge

The dog was reunited with his family!

Jovi and her dog, Diego, found this white dog on 73rd Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. Contact Jovi here.
Another Ridgite offered to hold the dog and everyone was very protective of the dog……it was nice to see neighbors look out for a dog that they didn’t know just because they love dogs.
Many great people in Bay Ridge offered to help – everyone was concerned about holding the dog and not bringing it to Animal Control because they don’t want the dog to find his owner.
Grateful for Jovi and all the other dog lovers in Bay Ridge.
