Want to Be on Community Board 10 and Stop Lobbyists and Real Estate Developers From Ruling the Area?

Some situations have come before Community Board 10 – like the school at Nathans.
Local papers didn’t tell us why this location was chosen. The City shared this.
Why didn’t more members of Community Board 10 speak out against this?
Many members on Community Board 10 were put on CB 10 by Councilman Justin Brannan.
We have seen some people writing things like, “It’s good to have a new school.” No it’s not good to have a school in a very busy part of the district when no one has changed the streets. Anyone on CB 10 who allowed this location for a school doesn’t care about the people in this community.
Another school deal with the same owner went down on 5th Avenue. A few CB 10 members questioned the crowded Avenue location, but most did not. (Info here) Those that pushed it through should have stepped down from Community Board 10. The man who was the head of the Education Committee should have stepped down by now. (Info here)
If you want to stop the developers and lobbyists from winning in Bay Ridge Community Board 10 Applications are here and are due on March 4, 2022. Antonio Reyes, the Brooklyn Borough President decides some seats.
Community Boards plays a small role in local government by confirming some plans made by pols. For more info about CB 10 see here.

February 24, 2022Embers Was Sold – The Adjacent Building Too

Breaking News!
Embers at 9519 – 3rd Avenue and the adjacent building with Vinnie’s Butcher Shop (9517) have sold!

Two large sold signs from McGuire Realty were placed on the adjacent buildings. They replaced the for sale signs that were up for years. (See below)

Congratulations to the new owners! We’re glad that these aren’t going to be empty storefronts for much longer.
Will a new restaurant come to 3rd Avenue, where the former steakhouse used to be? Or will it become a condominium complex? (I’ll let you know when I find out or leave me a message when you know!)

8 subway cars, only 3 without someone using them for shelter. 10+ people in need of help, one who is barefoot on this freezing morning (30f)
Where has all our tax $$ for social services gone? @NYCMayorsOffice, @NYCMayor, @NYCCouncil, @nypost, @JustinBrannan pic.twitter.com/8woPENvgez
If your uncle or brother was riding the R Train Hotel in Brooklyn without shoes in February, wouldn’t you want someone to call you?
Andrew Gounardes likes to campaign inside the 95th Street Train Station in Bay Ridge, but he won’t go down to the tracks and help the men riding the R Train Hotel.
Why has Gounardes not called the families of these men or had someone in NYC do that?

People are paying a lot of property taxes, yet none of it is going to social services to help these men,
Senator Gounardes will not transparent tell us how our tax money has been spent.
Gounardes hopes that you are working virtually and don’t know that he isn’t doing anything to help these men, even when he is in the station campaigning.
Politicians wants to banter about mental health, but none will take action to help get these men off the R Train Hotel.
