We saw this two years ago:
2017 Fireworks
Macys Fireworks at 9:20 – 9:50 pm I went to the 69th Street Pier many years ago and you can’t see anything – it’s disappointing from there because you can actually see some fireworks from Staten Island.
They have moved the fireworks further down -now at East 23 to East 40th Street on the East River – there is no Brooklyn Barge (story here). That means the fireworks won’t be visible from most places in Brooklyn. In Brooklyn the only places you will be able to see the fireworks is the top of the Brooklyn Grange or in Greenpoint.
In the past, the best places to view the Macys fireworks are from Brooklyn Bridge Park, Ikea Park, Bush Terminal Pier Park in Sunset (41St and 1St) and The Promenade in Brooklyn Heights was always packed for fireworks.
