TJ Maxx on 86th Street in Bay Ridge is Closing

First Century’s closed, now TJ Maxx on 86th Street in Bay Ridge is closing too.

Yes, the store was always a mess, but I always thought that was because Bay Ridge residents were in their shopping for all of the good deals.

Many people thought that TJ Maxx stores everywhere were closing, but that isn’t happening.  Century 21 Stores owns the corner property where TJ Maxx is located.

See stores in Bay Ridge that are opening or closing here.

Hugs,
marlene

Why is tj maxx closing the 86street store? The consequence … no retail left on 86street. Does century 21 really own the property where the store is? Is century evicted them or refusing to renew their lease?

Century’s declared bankruptcy (Link) so it may have had something to do with the proceedings.

Across the street where NY and Company was just sold so hopefully something good will go in there.

Sephora and Victoria Secret bring a lot of teens and women to the area to shop.

The closing of TJ Maxx on 86th street is a big loss to the community and I’m sorry to see it close

Hopefully some new stores will open and bring new life to 86st
