Fireworks Set Off Outside Brooklyn MDC Jail
I had no idea that there was an annual New Years Eve demonstration outside of the federal prison in Brooklyn (and in other places in the US too)
I’ve never seen a newspaper report about it in Brooklyn.

New Yorkers went to 29th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn and stood outside of MDC Prison making noising and set off fireworks for people being held there.

Those setting off the fireworks yelled, “Free them All.”
Those detained in the facility tapped on the windows and turned the lights on and off to signal to their friends that they saw the fireworks and join in the festivities from afar.
