Andrew Gounardes Does Not Support NYC Retirees. Gounardes Failed to Cosponsor Bill 8388.

Last Summer, NYC Retirees had to fight back because their medical benefits were being changed to another plan. Justin Brannan was not initially on the bill to support the retirees. (Info here)

Many Ridgites, who worked for the city called on Justin Brannan to get on the bill and support the retirees. When many of them took to social media, Brannan signed onto the bill.

Now at the state level, Andrew Gounardes is a problem. Andrew did not co-sponsor Senate Bill 8388. (See the bill here)

Here’s the NYS Senators who sponsored the bill:

Gounardes is so disconnected that he didn’t even mention the bill. In November, Gounardes term is up and there will be an election. Let him know you will vote against him if he isn’t on the bill.

Around election time, these politicians like to play the union card, but we can see they are not supporting men and women in our community who worked for 30+ years and deserve the benefits they worked for.

This bill prohibits public employers from diminishing health insurance benefits. Obviously Andrew Gounardes does not think that retirees deserve that or he would be a co-sponsor of the bill.

It is a bipartisan bill and both Bay Ridge Assemblymen, Michael Tannousis and Alec Brook-Krasny co-sponsored the bill in the Assembly (Bill A7866).

Assemblyman Harvey Epstein shared his support of the bill today. We should have seen Gounardes do the same.

Instead Andrew Gounardes posted a photo of his socks. Why would a 40-year-old man think people wanted to look at his feet?

Albany is just fun and game for Gounardes, as he shared this picture too last week.

Bay Ridge, elect someone who isn’t afraid to speak for the community in Albany. We have had enough of the clowning around on social media.

Hugs,
marlene
