Black Rabbit Filming in Dyker Heights Thursday and Friday, But They Started Parking on Tuesday Morning?

On Thursday, April 18th and Friday, April 19th, they will be filming a film that is believed to be named Black Rabbit. This is a Netflix film with Jason Bateman, Jude Law and Ethan Herschenfeld. (Info here)

These are the streets they are using:

73rd Street between 13th and 14th Avenue.

74th Street between 13th and 14th Avenue.

13th Avenue from 74th to 77th Streets

14th Avenue between 78th to 80th Streets

THIS IS A LOT OF BLOCKS TO CLOSE IN A COMMUNITY (especially when there is alternate side parking). Yes, some people have driveways – many don’t!

The code name for this shoot is “Gary the Dog.”

The yellow film shoot signs say that they will set up on Wednesday night at 10:00 pm, but the production company’s trailers were parked this morning (Tuesday, April 16th).

Local government representatives should be making sure that the production company keeps to their time.

Who represents the area? Senator Andrew Gounardes, Assemblyman Lester Chang and Alexa Aviles in NYC Council.

When there is filming in a residential area in NYC, alternate side parking should be suspended, so the residents can park and not be inconvenienced.

The last time a production crew snatched spots a full-day before the shoot, residents drove around in the rain for over an hour looking for spots, while the street spots remained empty.

If you live in the area, you understand this. If you don’t live in the area, you will just think this is a small inconvenience because it doesn’t affect you.

Hugs,
marlene
